Streamline IE7
Now here’s a registry tweak to remove the search bar from IE7 and to fix the address bar so it appears on top
These registry tweak works on Windows XP, and I’ve tried on Windows Vista… and see how good it is that it works.
For Moving the Address bar On XP and Vista :
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Look for the registry subkey: ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser’
- If you don’t have ‘WebBrowser’ key Right-click ‘Toolbar’, choose New, then click DWORD Value.
- In the New Value #1 box, type ITBar7Position, press ENTER.
- Right-click ITBar7Position, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
- Exit regedit, and then restart IE7
Same procedures for Vista Except you may have to turn off the UAC.
Next Tweak is Removing the search bar :
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
- Look for the registry subkey: ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Infodelivery\Restrictions’
- Right-click ‘NoSearchBox’, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
- Exit regedit, and then restart IE7
now if some cases you don’t have ‘Infodelivery\Restrictions’
- Right-click ‘Internet Explorer‘, choose New key, then type ‘Infodelivery‘
- Right-click ‘Infodelivery‘, choose New key, then type ‘Restrictions‘
- Right-click ‘Restrictions‘, choose New DWORD Value.
- In the New Value #1 box, type ‘NoSearchBox‘, press ENTER.
- Right-click ‘NoSearchBox‘, and then click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
